Arctic Baby Ginger

A Rare Midsummer Harvest from Finland

Grown in the Saimaa region of Finland and harvested only once a year.
Available fresh for premium restaurants and specialty stores, and as a limited freeze-dried ingredient for product development.

What Makes Baby Ginger Special?

Most ginger is harvested fully mature to withstand long storage and international transport.

Baby Ginger is different.

Harvested weeks earlier, it offers a softer texture, less fibre and a brighter, fresher flavour profile.

Its delicate skin requires little or no peeling, making it highly valued among chefs and premium food producers.

A Short Harvest Season

Unlike conventional ginger, Arctic Baby Ginger is harvested while still young.

The harvest season lasts less than one month each year.

Once the roots reach full maturity, the opportunity to harvest true baby ginger is gone until the following season.

This exceptionally short harvest window is one of the reasons why Arctic Baby Ginger remains a rare specialty ingredient.

The result is a young ginger with exceptional freshness, delicate texture and a vibrant aromatic profile.

Available only for a brief moment each summer.

Harvested to Order

Fresh Arctic Baby Ginger is harvested exclusively against customer orders.

Rather than being lifted and stored, each harvest is scheduled according to confirmed demand during the short annual harvest season.

Harvesting begins in the cool early morning hours, shortly after the first rays of the midsummer sun reach the greenhouse.

Early harvesting helps preserve the delicate freshness, aroma and texture that make young ginger so distinctive.

Whenever possible, orders are packed and dispatched on the very same day.

Reserve Your Harvest

Fresh Arctic Baby Ginger is available for less than one month each year.

Harvest quantities are limited and harvesting takes place exclusively against confirmed orders.

Once the seasonal harvest window closes, fresh Arctic Baby Ginger will not be available again until the following year.

Restaurants, specialty retailers and product developers are encouraged to reserve their harvest allocation in advance.

Grown in the Saimaa Region of Finland

Arctic Baby Ginger is cultivated in the Saimaa region of Eastern Finland, surrounded by one of Europe’s largest freshwater lake systems.

Here, long northern summer days provide extraordinary light, while pure groundwater and carefully controlled greenhouse cultivation create ideal growing conditions for young ginger.

Every harvest begins in the greenhouse and can be traced all the way to the finished product.

Saimaa Origin Certified

Arctic Baby Ginger carries the official Saimaa Origin label, confirming its regional origin, traceability and responsible production.

The label is awarded only to products that genuinely originate from the Saimaa region and represent its standards of quality, authenticity and sustainability.

Every batch can be traced from greenhouse cultivation to harvest and final production.
